Patrick Bamford outlines key factor in Spurs win as he puts recent 'frustrations' behind him

Patrick Bamford thinks his Leeds United team 'got the balance right' in their 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites bounced back from last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion and all but ended Spurs' hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

Stuart Dallas handed the hosts the lead at Elland Road before Son Heung-min levelled the clash for the visitors.

However, Bamford was on hand to put Leeds back ahead before half-time and Rodrigo Moreno wrapped the match up in the latter stages of the game.

The Whites have struggled in front of goal somewhat in recent games, with the side failing to create too many chances - something Bamford acknowledged in his post-match interview with BT Sport.

But the English striker did claim that he thought him and his team-mates found the correct balance against Tottenham.

“I think the first-half was definitely stronger for us than the second, they came back into it a little bit," Bamford said.

"But we stood strong, and they’re a top team with top players. It’s one of them where we had to be fully concentrated the whole time and that goal at the end settled a few nerves.

“The last few games, for some reason, we’ve sured up at the back a little bit and we’re not shipping as many chances but we’ve barely created any in the last four or five games.

"So, it’s been frustrating for me, but it’s nice today that we got the balance right.

“Our wingers were brilliant, they put the ball in the right position and they were difficult balls to defend, so a goal was coming eventually and fortunately it came from the cross."

Leeds now have a week before their next clash, with a trip to Burnley next Saturday afternoon.
