Patrick Bamford says Leeds United will be going all out to beat Derby County on Sunday knowing that a win will clinch them the title.
The Whites could well be promoted by the time they line up at Pride Park, with just a point needed to go up thanks to Thursday's victory over Barnsley.
Yet, speaking to Sky Sports, Bamford says that the Whites have always been looking at the title, not just promotion.
He said: "I think the way we’ve looked at it is before this game, it was six points to be champions, not just to go up.
"It’s not many times in your life that you get to say that you’ve won, you’ve come first in your league.
"That’s the main aim for us."
On the idea of clinching the title at Pride Park, Bamford said he could see why some fans would see the appeal after Derby's infamous celebrations after knocking the Whites out of the play-offs last season.
He said: "Some say that would be written in the stars, but we don’t really think about it too much."
Bamford admitted the victory over Barnsley was a frustrating experience as the Whites relied on an own goal to take victory.
He said: “I think we would’ve liked a much easier game, but at this stage of the season, no games are easy.
"They’re fighting for their life, we knew that before the game.
"We expected a tough game, it really was a slog. We had to hold onto it a little bit. But three points is what matters.
"I actually felt like we didn’t have a lot of the ball - I don’t know what the stats were - but it felt like they had a fair share of it. It was very open.
"They had quite a lot of chances, to be fair.
"Even though we let them have chances, I think we defended quite well when it came to it. I think we deserved the win."
