Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Sunday, June 6.
Mourinho's Bale dig
Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at Spurs loanee Gareth Bale's big-game performances.
“When we look to Gareth and how many great performances he had, how many goals he scored against the best teams, there were not many or none," he said on Wales' hopes for the Euros.
"It's not an easy situation for a country without many options.
“But they are always well organised and know how to create a situation to try to get the best out of the more talented players.”
The Portuguese manager, who will take charge of Roma next season, gave Bale just 92 minutes last season against the Premier League's 'big six.'
Sissoko admits Mourinho regret
Moussa Sissoko admitted that the players didn't perform as well as they should have under Mourinho.
The Frenchman told Foot Mercato: "For me, it was a real pleasure to be able to work with him
"We all know his experience and his career. He is an immense coach, but with us, he was not able to achieve his goals but he was not the only one at fault.
"He left and I wish him the best. I would have liked to be able to do better like the whole team. For various reasons, it didn’t work out like that.
"We cannot go back in time and we need to move forward into the present."
Spurs are yet to replace the former Real Madrid coach after talks with Antonio Conte broke down on Friday evening.
Kevin Campbell tells Bamford to avoid Spurs
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged Patrick Bamford to stay at Leeds if Spurs come calling this summer.
“The bottom line is the system suits Bamford and other players at Leeds down to the ground," he told Football Insider.
“To score 17 goals in a season is a massive achievement though. If you could add those goals to say a Spurs.
“If they lost Harry Kane and signed Bamford at least they would have a similar output.
"Yes, somebody else would have to step up as well but to sign a 17-goal striker would be a start.
“If I was Bamford though I would reject any Tottenham offers and stick at Leeds. He loves it there and he knows the team and the manager so well.
"I’d ignore any interest and stay where I’m loved by the fans and my manager.”
