Patrick Bamford admits he was “p****d off” by Leeds ’ disallowed goal against West Ham, claiming it was their worst VAR call yet.
Tyler Roberts’ effort was ruled out at 0-0 on Monday because Bamford got a touch to Helder Costa’s cross to the Leeds striker, which played the Whites’ Portuguese winger offside.
Bamford was deeply annoyed when he watched the incident on his phone in the changing rooms after Leeds’ 2-0 loss at the London Stadium.
He claims it felt even worse than his recent strike at Wolves, which was chalked off for an armpit offside against him.
Bamford, 27, says he had to go for the ball because he felt Aaron Cresswell would have headed it away.
“I did touch it,” the Leeds striker told the Official Leeds United Podcast. “I had to touch it otherwise Cresswell was going to head it. I thought when I touched it that Costa was miles offside.
“Running back I just thought it was one of those where I thought I’ve ruined it by touching it, but I had to.
“I got in the changing room and saw it and it was worse. I was p****d off about the one at Wolves, saying my knee was offside, but this one was 10 times worse. I don’t know how they do that.”

Bamford said Leeds were also mystified by Kalvin Phillips’ booking when they felt he fairly won the ball, but he insisted Mike Dean is a top referee.
“The ref said he went in aggressively with his foot high,” he said. “There were a couple of those in midfield and Coops got given one against him, so I don’t know what’s going on.
“He’s actually all right, Mike Dean. He’s a good one.”
