Patrice Evra has thanked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his sacking by Manchester United - while telling the club's stars 'I'm coming for you!'
Solskjaer was dismissed after a 4-1 defeat to Watford left United six points adrift of the Champions League places, and with just five league wins from 12 games so far this term.
Michael Carrick has been placed in temporary charge ahead of the appointment of an interim manager until the end of the season.
A club statement read: “Manchester United announces that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as manager.
"Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision.

“While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.
“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a manager who gave us many great moments.
"He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family.”

Evra joined United towards the end of Solskjaer's career, with the pair spending time together at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Frenchman, who started alongside Solskjaer in the Norwegian's final game as a United player in 2007, sent a message to his ex-colleague on Instagram after the dismissal - and didn't mince his words when it came to the current crop.
'Thank you my friend for making us believe again in @manchesterunited,' the 40-year-old wrote.
'Unfortunately when you don’t get the results people forget what you done for this club but to all the players I’m coming for you now. See you against Arsenal …'
The defeat at Watford means United have lost just one game fewer than in the entire 2020-21 campaign.
Former United striker Josh King opened the scoring for Claudio Ranieri's side, with Ismaila Sarr, Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis also scoring and Sarr missing a penalty.
Plenty were quick to criticise the performance, with goalkeeper David de Gea delivering a particularly brutal verdict.

“We don’t know what to do with the ball. We don’t know how to defend properly," De Gea told the BBC.
“It was embarrassing, the way we played. The first half was very poor – it’s not acceptable for this club and the level of players that we have.
“It’s another nightmare. There’s been some difficulties but I don’t really know what to say.”
