Patrice Evra sends instructions to Paul Pogba over Man Utd career and fans

Ex- Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has told Paul Pogba what he must do to 'fix' his United career as rumours linger over a potential Old Trafford exit.

Speculation has started over whether Pogba could look to leave Manchester at the end of his United contract, which expires at the end of the current league season.

The Frenchman is still widely viewed as one of the most gifted midfielders in the game despite largely underperforming during his second five-year stint as a United player.

Pogba is a client of super agent Mino Raiola who has made no secret of putting Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid on high alert over potentially snagging his signature.

If Pogba were to walk away from Old Trafford in the summer, it would mark the second time the midfielder has left the club for free - but next month's transfer window presents one final chance to cash in on him.

However, Evra, who shared a dressing room with Pogba while the pair were both at Juventus, has explained what the World Cup winner can do to revive his career and stay at United.

Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, Evra said: "It hurts me when people criticise Paul, I have to say, because it hurts when people criticise your brother.

"We still have a lot of talks together and I give him a lot of support.

"He's such a great player — and maybe some people can't understand why he can play so well with France for the national team and not as well for Manchester United.

"He needs to fix that, give more love to the fans, then they have to give more love to him in return.

"I think some of the old legends can sometimes go in too personal on him, which I don't like. He's a great guy."

Pogba has always seemingly endured a difficult time from a number of former United players-turned-pundits, often blamed for a lot of the club's on-pitch failings since his mega-money return in 2016.

Most of the United faithful were optimistic over the Frenchman's fortunes at the start of this season after Pogba registered four assists on the opening day during the 5-1 rout of Leeds.

The fantastic performance came off the back of a stellar Euro 2020 campaign with France, with Pogba one of the few shining lights for Les Bleus as they were knocked out at the last-16 stage.

Unfortunately for those of a United persuasion, the midfielder has failed to recreate the form he displayed for his country while at his club.
