Patrice Evra reveals extent of Manchester United friendship with Park Ji-Sung

Patrice Evra has revealed former Manchester United teammate Ji-sung Park is his son's Godfather.

It comes after Evra hinted that his former United colleague would be his "future son's godfather" speaking on his Twitter account in April before his son, Lilas, was born in May.

The pair struck up a formidable bond during their time at Old Trafford, which spanned from 2006 to 2012, with the two involved in multiple trophy successes under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Park left that year for Queens Park Rangers, before ending his professional playing career with a year-long loan with PSV Eindhoven. Evra stayed at United until 2014 and had spells at Juventus, Marseille and West Ham before hanging up his boots in 2018.

In April, Evra discussed his relationship with his former teammate, he said: "He's such an amazing guy and actually he is the godfather of my future child."

“Because I like shy people!” Evra added in a Q&A recently, speaking to United's official website, when asked by a fan how he became so close to the South Korean midfielder.

“When someone doesn’t open himself up too much, that’s when I go to those people.

“Ji is the godfather to my son, he’s more than a friend. I spoke with him actually this morning so it just came naturally.

“He’s such a humble person but he’s also a funny guy. You don’t see that side, because he only shows it to me. He’s a real brother.”
