Patrice Evra makes Gjanni Alioski 'Oscar' claim over Nicolas Pepe red card against Leeds United

Patrice Evra believes Ezgjan Alioski 'deserves an Oscar' for his role in Nicolas Pepe's red card against Leeds United.

The Whites were held to a 0-0 draw at Elland Road by Arsenal despite hitting the woodwork three times in the final 20 minutes.

Leeds dominated the first half and continued to make the running after Pepe was sent off for an off-the-ball clash with Alioski.

Rodrigo Moreno, Patrick Bamford and Raphinha were all then denied by the woodwork as none of Leeds' 24 attempts on goal culminated in a deserved lead.

The game's biggest talking points came when Pepe clashed with Alioski, though.

The Arsenal winger clearly headbutted the Leeds man and after reviewing the incident on the VAR monitor, Anthony Taylor correctly showed him a red card.

However, Evra wasn't impressed with Alioski's reaction, after falling to the floor clutching his face.

“I’m disappointed. It came from frustration. You can see Pepe isn’t happy," Evra told Sky Sports.

"I think he should say sorry to all of his teammates because Arsenal had a plan and everything changed after that.

"Alioski deserves an Oscar because he plays it so well. If I was the coach of Leeds, I would be so happy with Alioski, but come on, it looked like he broke his nose, but he didn’t have anything.

"Really silly from Pepe. When you’re not playing a lot, and Arteta gives you a chance, don’t cry when you’re not playing the next game.”
