Patrice Evra delivers verdict on Paul Pogba signing new Manchester United contract

Patrice Evra does not think Paul Pogba will sign a new contract at Manchester United.

Pogba, 28, is out of contract at the end of the season and will leave the club on a free transfer unless he agrees to a new deal before then.

Ralf Rangnick has already cast further doubt on the Frenchman's future by reiterating the club should be under no pressure to convince anyone to stay, while he also questioned the decision to let him travel to Dubai to recover from an ongoing thigh injury.

Pogba is now back in England after speaking with the German coach, but, with his current deal expiring on June 30, he has shown no inclination to sign a new contract.

Three years ago the former Juventus man infamously confessed it was 'time for a new challenge' as he promoted his personal brand in Japan, and his agent, Mino Raiola, admitted later that year he was 'sorry' not to have engineered a transfer to Real Madrid.

At the end of 2020 agent Raiola also claimed it was 'over' for Pogba at United and outlined his intention to broker a transfer last year which never came to fruition.

Now compatriot Evra has weighed in on the debate and claims Pogba is unlikely to sign a new deal because 'he does not feel loved in England.'

"Paul [Pogba] doesn't feel loved in England, especially by former players," he told L'Equipe. "A lot of people think he should play better but I also see gratuitous criticisms about his haircuts or his clothes."
