Patrice Evra delights Manchester United fans by mocking Man City after Champions League defeat to Chelsea

Manchester United great Patrice Evra has delighted many of the club's supporters by taking a swipe at Manchester City following the Champions League final.

Kai Havertz' first-half goal was enough to decide the all-English final in Porto, with Chelsea lifting the trophy for the second time in their history.

It represented a disappointing end to the season for City, who were looking to lift the trophy for the first time and celebrate a treble alongside their triumphs in the Carabao Cup and Premier League.

While City fans were commiserating, it provided United supporters with some joy following what has been a difficult week following a European final defeat of their own.

Who will have the better season in 2021/22? Let us know in the comments below.

Among those taking the opportunity to enjoy City's defeat was United legend Evra, who posted an image on Instagram after the final whistle.

The Frenchman shared an image of Sir Bobby Charlton and the Champions League trophy, with Evra's face superimposed upon the player alongside him.

It featured a caption that read: "Sir Bobby can you check for City's name again? Nope, still not here Pat... I love this game."

The 40-year-old lifted the Champions League during his illustrious career with United, in a victory that incidentally came against Chelsea in Moscow.

Evra has continued to be a fan favourite with his social media antics following his retirement, not shying from rubbing opposition fans up the wrong way.

City fans will almost certainly remind him that United lost to Villarreal in the Europa League final in midweek but it appears Evra is over that result.
