Patrice Evra checks Graeme Souness' glass to see what's in it after his VAR rant

Patrice Evra checked Graeme Souness' glass to see what was in it after he launched a rant about VAR during Liverpool's clash with Manchester United.

Liverpool had a goal ruled out in the first half at Anfield after Virgil van Dijk was adjudged to have fouled David de Gea in the build-up to Roberto Firmino firing home.

At the half time break, both Roy Keane and Souness ranted about why the goal should have stood, claiming they didn't believe a foul had been committed.

Keane said: "Obviously they have to go to VAR for every goal incident, and how they see that as a foul is beyond me, the game has gone made."

Evra momentarily interrupted, saying: "It is a foul, it is a foul, Roy. For me it is a foul."

And it wasn't long before Souness gave his input.

The Liverpool legend said: "If your starting position is that a goalkeeper cannot be touched, then that is a foul. But that is not the rule, he has gone for it as fairly as he could.

"Under no circumstances is that a foul, under no circumstances.

"They talk about VAR as some sort of magnificent computer that's perfect in every way, it's human error and they don't know what they're doing.

"That's the bottom line, they don't know what they're doing, ask a football person, it's laughable."

As his rant came to its natural conclusion, Evra burst out laughing, clearly in disagreement with Souness, before checking the Scot's glass to see what was in it.

As you would expect, the cheeky gesture was spotted by Sky Sports viewers, who took to sharing the clip on social media.
