Graeme Souness and Patrice Evra both believe Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris should have done better in the build-up to Crystal Palace's equaliser during Sunday's 1-1 draw.
Eberechi Eze's free-kick wasn't held by Lloris and the ball fell to Jeffrey Schlupp, who scored in front of 2,000 Palace supporters at Selhurst Park.
Spurs took the lead in the first-half through Harry Kane - whose long-distance shot wasn't dealt with by Vicente Guaita.
Jose Mourinho's team had a host of chances, with Kane having two headed efforts very well saved by Guaita. Eric Dier thought he'd won it for Spurs in added time with a powerful free-kick, but again, the Palace shot-stopper was equal to it.
However, the draw feels like two points dropped for Spurs, rather than a point gained - with Liverpool now having the chance to leapfrog the north London side at the top of the table.
Lloris' involvement in Schlupp's equaliser has prompted criticism from Souness and Evra, when speaking in the Sky Sports studio.
Souness explained: “The goalkeeper, if the ball is coming in, if he isn’t gonna move, he must be assuming it’s gonna come straight on his chest. I’m not being super critical of Lloris, but could he have caught that?"
Then, former Manchester United defender Evra elaborated on his colleague's point by claiming Lloris doesn't come off his line enough.
Evra said: “I think Lloris is a great goalkeeper, but he is always staying on his line.
"Sometimes I want him to go up and claim the ball, punch it away, even after the incident, and that’s my little worry.
"He’s got a good reaction on his line, but I never see him out from corners of free-kicks.”
The draw at Selhurst Park was the first time Spurs have failed to win in the Premier League since October's 3-3 draw with West Ham United.
