PATNA: A 38-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three autorickshaw drivers under Khagaul police station area on Friday on the pretext of providing her a job. They were arrested and sent to jail. The victim’s statement was recorded under Section 164 CrPC before a magistrate on Saturday. The medical examination of woman was also done.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon, when Pawan Kumar from Koilwar in Bhojpur took the woman to his rented house in Khagaul on the pretext of getting her a job of maid in a house. The other accused, Pappu Kumar of Mainpura and Manoj Kumar from Sikaria in Paliganj, were already there. They allegedly gang-raped her. Hearing her plea for help, the locals gathered near the house and caught two of the accused.
SHO Mukesh Kumar Mukesh said the the third accused was later arrested. “Her husband runs a fruit shop in Khagaul. She was also looking for a job to support the family. Pawan took advantage of her situation and took her to his rented accommodated and committed the crime with two of his accomplices,” he said.
Man robbed of car: One Rakesh Kumar of Parsa Bazaar was allegedly robbed of his car at gunpoint on Bypass road under Jakkanpur police station area in the wee hours of Saturday. He has lodged a complaint in this regard. SHO Sudama Kumar Singh said the incident took place around 2am when Rakesh was returning home after dropping his friend at Hanuman Nagar. “When he reached near Sipara overbridge, an SUV rammed into his car from behind and later they blocked the road. Four people came out of the SUV and asked Rakesh to hand over his car key. He first refused, obeyed them when they fired in the air,” he said.
The police were scrutinizing the CCTV footage of the cameras installed in the nearby areas. “With the technical evidence, we have got lead in the case. The criminals will be arrested soon,” the SHO added.
