PATNA: Police used water cannons and batons to disperse Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) workers who broke through barricades near Gandhi Maidan and attempted to march towards the Raj Bhavan on Monday.
JAP chief and former MP Pappu Yadav led the demonstration against “rising crime, corruption, unemployment, and atrocities against women”.
Additionally, he pressed for special status for Bihar. Thousands of party workers joined the anti-government protest march that began at Ramgoolam Chowk.
According to officials, a large police force had been stationed near J P roundabout since the morning in response to a call by JAP workers to march to the Raj Bhavan.
