PATNA: A 23-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death as he had denied to give Rs 50 to his drug addict friend for purchasing a small packet of ganja at village Pali under Naubatpur police station area in western Patna at around 11.30am on Saturday.
Naubatpur police station SHO Samrat Deepak Kumar said that the slain youth has been identified as Pradeep Kumar.
“The assailant is Prince Kumar who is aged around 25 years. He fled from the spot soon after the incident. He had stabbed Pradeep at least four to five times in the chest. A minor altercation had taken place between the duo before stabbing,” he said police had not been able to recover the knife with which the crime took place.
SHO Kumar said that Prince was a drug addict and he had demanded Rs 50 from Pradeep so that he could purchase a small packet of ganja for consumption.
“Pradeep had denied to give him the money for his drug addiction. He immediately brought a knife and stabbed Pradeep multiple times within blink of an eye. Pradeep was rushed to a private hospital at Sagunamor in Danapur but could not survive,” Kumar said.
He said that both youths were neighbours and were together sitting in front of their residence and were involved in gossiping when the incident took place.
SHO said that police have come to know that Price had an erratic and unstable behaviour which was probably due to continuous drug consumption.
“Body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem at Danapur sub-divisional hospital. Pradeep’s brother Sujeet Kumar has lodged an FIR against Prince for killing his brother. Raids are going on to nab him,” he added.
