Patients told to stay away after Mercedes smashes into front of GP surgery

A GP practice in Bolton had to close after a Mercedes crashed into its building.

The crash occurred at the Market Surgery branch of the Bolton Community Practice on Chorley New Road.

No injuries were reported in the accident that took place on Monday afternoon (November 22)

It was a described as a 'minor road traffic accident' by Greater Manchester Police.

The surgery took to social media to alert residents about their closure following the crash.

Bolton Community Practice posted: "There has been an incident at our Market Surgery Branch this afternoon, please do not go down to the surgery. It is currently closed."

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene as well as a response vehicle from the ambulance service

A spokesperson for Northwest Ambulance Service said: "A response vehicle attended an RTC although there were no casualties."
