Patient treated after multi-vehicle crash involving lorry on A4174 Bristol ring road

A patient has been treated after a multi-vehicle crash involving a lorry on the Bristol ring road.

The A4174 westbound was blocked near Hambrook this morning (April 30) following the collision, which also involved three cars.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene at 8.10am and treated a male patient at the scene for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.10am to Hambrook after it was reported there was a road traffic collision that involved a lorry and three cars.

"One male patient was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries."

An eyewitness at the scene said police were instructing drivers to turn around on the A4174 following the crash.

She said: "The traffic is very very bad. Took me two hours to get to work today - it usually takes an hour."

Several First Bus services, including route 5, 19/19A and M3 , also experienced significant delays as a result of the accident.

Traffic began moving again it around 9am while one of the vehicles involved was left in the bus lane for recovery.
