One person has been taken to hospital after a medical emergency partially closed a section of the M4 near Bristol.
One lane of the eastbound carriageway of the motorway between J21 and J20 was closed for more than an hour, from shortly before 6.30pm this evening (Tuesday, July 23) as emergency services descended on the scene.
Traffic camera footage captured at least four emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, on the scene during the incident.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident at 6.14pm on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 21-20.
"We sent an ambulance and have taken one patient to hospital for further treatment."
South Western Ambulance Service did not disclose the nature of the medical incident.
