Patient, 26, with no underlying health conditions dies with coronavirus - latest UK figures

A 26-year-old patient with no underlying health conditions died after contracting coronavirus, the latest figures show.

Across England, a further 664 Covid patients have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 77,253.

The South West's death toll increased by 60 today (February 10), this compares to six Covid-linked fatalities reported on Monday.

Deaths were highest in the Midlands, where 150 more fatalities were confirmed.

Patients were aged between 21 and 100 years old. All except 26 people (aged 36 to 96 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Dates of deaths ranged from December 3, 2020 to February 9 2021, with the majority being on or after February 6.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region are as follows:

  • East of England - 104
  • London - 92
  • Midlands - 150
  • North East & Yorkshire - 90
  • North West - 89
  • South East – 79
  • South West - 60

Deaths remain high in Bristol and its neighbouring areas, with 16 fatalities in all settings confirmed on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Somerset and Bath reported a further 11 deaths, while Gloucestershire recorded six.
