Patient, 25, with no underlying health conditions dies with Covid -latest UK hospital deaths

A 25-year-old with no underlying health conditions has died after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

The latest figures show 78,152 people have died after being cared for in English hospitals - a rise of 407 from yesterday's data.

A further 29 deaths were confirmed in the South West - the lowest increase in the country.

The Midlands reported the highest total of 92.

Patients were aged between 25 and 101 years old. All except 17 (aged 25 to 97 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Dates of deaths ranged from December 9, 2020 to February 11, with the majority being on or after February 6. Their families have been informed.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region are as follows:

  • East of England - 66
  • London - 56
  • Midlands - 92
  • North East & Yorkshire - 55
  • North West - 63
  • South East – 46
  • South West - 29

A further eight deaths in all settings were confirmed across the West of England - three in Bristol, three in North Somerset and two in Bath and North East Somerset.

Ten fatalities were reported across Bath and Somerset, and four in Gloucestershire.
