‘Patience is key’: Le’Veon Bell, Robby Anderson happy to still be Jets

With rumors swirling and phones ringing, it was unclear if Le’Veon Bell and Robby Anderson would still be Jets once Tuesday’s trade deadline passed.

Both players garnered interest from other teams, but the Jets ultimately hung onto the running back and receiver. Based on their reactions on social media, both are rather happy with that outcome.

“I need everyone to understand it takes a process to build a winning program, to build a winning organization,” Bell, who just signed with the Jets as a highly-coveted free agent this past offseason, said in a video posted to Twitter. “I am happy as hell to be a New York Jet. I am happy to be here despite all the trade rumors and talks. I am here and I am happy to be here. But everybody has to have a little bit of patience. Just a little bit of patience. If it happened overnight, there’d be a whole bunch of teams snapping their fingers and just making it happen.”

Bell went on to ask that Jets fans stick with the team after its 1-6 start and offered support for Adam Gase and Joe Douglas.

“We’re going to get this ship sailing in the right direction,” Bell said. He ended the video by promising Gang Green will turn things around.

As for Anderson, the speedy receiver was a little more comedic when expressing his joy over staying put.

Rather than post a long video of himself with a message for fans, he simply shared an NSFW clip from the movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

Of course, that’s not exactly how things go for Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in the film, but that’s not something Anderson or Bell have to worry about.

After surviving the deadline, neither player is leaving the Jets just yet.
