Pathum aim to make home a fortress, take on Angels

Bangkok United striker Heberty Fernandes, centre, in action against Ratchaburi.

Thai League 1 champions BG Pathum United aim to end Bangkok United's winning run when they meet on Sunday.

Joint-leaders Bangkok have 19 points, six ahead of fourth-ranked Pathum who have a game in hand.

BG have won two games in a row after two consecutive losses and coach Aurelio Vidmar believes his men are back in form.

"The atmosphere in the team is very good now after two wins and that is good news for us," said the Australian.

"Everything is looking good and we have to keep the momentum. My goal is to help the team win as many matches as possible. We will have many difficult games in November."

He said although the Angels are a strong team and are dangerous in attack with forwards like Heberty Fernandes and Vander Luiz, there is no reason for his men to fear anyone when they play at home.

"We respect every team but we will play at home and we want to beat them," he said.

The Rabbits will be without defender Victor Cardozo and striker Diogo Luis Santo, who are recovering from injuries.

Teerasil Dangda will again lead their attack in the absence of Diogo.

Bangkok defeated Ratchaburi 2-1 in midweek for their sixth straight win with Heberty on target.
