Patchwork at Glastonbury: is it Pulp or Robbie Williams?

Of all the rumours of secrets guests and TBAs on the official Glastonbury bill, it’s Patchwork that has caused the most discussion.

While Lorde was revealed as the TBA to open the Woodsies stage on the Friday of the festival, and Lewis Capaldi stepped out onto the Pyramid Stage this afternoon in that secret guest slot, both were heavily rumoured beforehand.

Yet Patchwork remains a mystery. Some have said it’s Chappell Roan. Others are convinced it’s Talking Heads. And still others have said Pulp all along.

Now it seems Pulp are odds-on. For Jarvis Cocker is in the building.

Jarvis Cocker today played secret DJ set at Glastonbury at the tiny Greenpeace stage in front of just 50 people. With him drifting around on site, available, ready, and Pulp currently on tour... is this not confirmation it’s them?

Well it would be, if not for the fact Robbie Williams has suddenly emerged as the dark horse in this race. The pop superstar is also on the site, and has shared his own cryptic post:

‘Uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable’ he says... well, is that not the kind of disruptive approach that a secret set under a pseudonym is all about?

Of course, he may just be having a good time with all the other celebrities here, including Aimee Lou Wood, Dominic West, Eddie Redmayne, and Peter Capaldi.

But wouldn’t he just love to take this festival by the scruff of the neck?

So who’s it going to be? How about Jarvis and Robbie have a wrestle about it to decide?
