Comedian Pat Shortt says he would love to see his daughter Faye in the line-up of next year’s Dancing With The Stars - but rules himself out of the show.
The duo regularly perform on stage and the eldest daughter Faye has been blessed with her father’s talents.
Pat said he would love to see 23-year-old Faye don the sequins on next year’s Dancing With The Stars as it would give her own platform to perform on.
He told us: “She young, she’s in her early 20s. I think she would love to do it at some stage. I know she was talking to people in there so I would say it is probably on the horizon at some stage.
“She is of the age where I absolutely think it would be great for her to do something like that. She’d be excited at the prospect of delving into a project like that. So when it’s right and it happens, it’ll happen.”
The Tipperary native said he has been approached by show bosses on numerous occasions and says no every time because of the huge work involved.
“I’m not doing it.
“It was mentioned to me a couple of times but to be honest with you it’s a huge workload, I don’t have time to do it. I have too many shows to commit to it and give it 100 percent. I couldn’t’;t do it. It’s physically demanding, I don’t know if I want to do it.
“Deirdre O’Kane did it and she said the legs were absolutely gone off her and Deirdre is a tough lady, she doesn’t shy away from work at all. But she said it was grueling.
"They send you the schedule and I’ve done choreography pieces in film and TV and doing the same thing over and over, I’m like I’ve lost the will to live here and then you have to do it over and over for two days before you shoot the thing.”
