Pat McCormick search teams find body in Ballygowan

The body of a man has been found by police in Co Down.

The discovery was made in the Ballygowan area by detectives investigating the 'murder' of

The 55-year-old was last seen alive in Comber on the evening of Thursday, May 30 and following his disappearance police launched a murder investigation.

Following the discovery, Detective Chief Inspector Pete Montgomery, who is leading the investigation, said: “I can confirm that a man’s body has been found in the Ballygowan area.

"I am unable to confirm the identity of the man  until a formal identification process has taken place. A post mortem is also being conducted.”   

Just yesterday police investigating Mr McCormick's murder released which they wanted to trace.

A reward of £10,000 was also offered last month of information which would led to the recovery of his body.
