Pat McAfee Apologizes After Appearing to Snub Drew Brees

Pat McAfee apologized to Drew Brees after the two former NFL stars turned media members appeared to cross paths ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend but failed to have a conversation.

Video emerged from Radio Row in Phoenix of Brees trying to get McAfee’s attention as the former All-Pro punter and host of The Pat McAfee Show spoke with another group of people. McAfee, then, left with that same group and never looked back as Brees called after him.

A few hours later, after speculation swirled that McAfee had blown off the legendary quarterback, McAfee took to Twitter to apologize “immensely” to Brees for missing him.

Man… I did NOT see @drewbrees I apologize IMMENSELY.. you’re a legend boss, this is 100% my fault,” McAfee wrote.

It’s been a hectic week for McAfee, who said he faces a defamation lawsuit filed by Brett Favre for comments that the host made on his show about a separate lawsuit that accuses the Hall of Fame quarterback of misappropriating welfare funds in Mississippi. When McAfee addressed the defamation lawsuit on Friday, he made a point of saying that it’s difficult to get him to apologize in general, so his note to Brees certainly seems sincere.

With Super Bowl LVII set to kickoff tomorrow, perhaps McAfee and Brees can find some time to meet face-to-face before the championship game between the Chiefs and the Eagles gets underway.
