Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft _ including four via trade _ so their careers will be chronicled and compared just as closely as their resumes were in this spring's riveting draft lead-up.
Four QBs went in the top 10, the most in any draft since the inception of the common draft era in 1967. It was only the third time at least five QBs were taken in the draft's opening round, with the 1983 NFL draft holding the record at six, including Hall of Famers John Elway, Jim Kelly and Dan Marino.
And it was just the third time that two Heisman Trophy winners went in the opening round of the same draft, with Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma (Browns at No. 1) and Lamar Jackson (Ravens at No. 32) becoming the first-ever Heisman bookends to a first round.
