Pat Elflein has been a mentor for Garrett Bradbury

It’s no secret that rookie Garrett Bradbury will be the Day 1 starter for the Vikings at center.

The team has said it more than once.

He’ll be replacing Pat Elflein, who will move to guard.

Two years after being a third-round pick for the team, Elflein could have been resistant to helping Bradbury out, but instead, it sounds like he’s been the complete opposite.

“Pat (Elflein) has been awesome,” Bradbury said Tuesday. “I can’t say enough good things about Pat. He’s obviously played the position and played guard and understands offensive line play. He was a rookie two years ago, so he kind of can mentor me in things that helped him and what didn’t help him. He’s been awesome for me and I am just trying to learn a lot from him and older guys like him.”

The offensive line will determine just how effective this offense can be after a disappointing 2018 season.

It’s a good sign that they are all working together to improve.
