Pastry manufacturer launches recruitment drive for 300 temporary workers

Pastry producer Addo Food Group is taking on 300 staff across its UK sites.

The company is looking to fill hundreds of temporary positions at its six factories in Market Drayton, Nottingham and Poole by recruiting people who have been made redundant from the hospitality and leisure industry following the coronavirus outbreak.

The company manufactures a range of savoury quiches, pies, pasties, slices, scotch eggs, sausage rolls and pork pies for major retailers, as well as leading brands such as Wall's Pastry and Pork Farms.

It is now on the lookout for new staff to work in a variety of roles on the production lines.

Chief executive Deborah Bolton said: "Coronavirus has impacted so many hospitality businesses already and, as workers are being laid off all over the country from restaurants, pubs and bars, we’re pleased to be able to offer temporary positions within our sites which may help ease the financial pressure that a lot of people now find themselves in.

"It’s a really difficult time for people and it’s important that we help where we can."
