Passengers were forced to stay overnight on a stricken Stena Line ferry in Liverpool after it suffered engine problems.
One person said after boarding the vessel at 9.30pm on Friday, they were told their journey to Belfast would be delayed due to the weather.
But a second announcement then confirmed an engine problem and passengers were informed their departure would be further delayed.

After spending all night on the ferry in Liverpool, it was only at 8am today, those onboard were allowed off the boat.
According to BelfastLive, passengers were then offered a chance to travel north to Cairnryan in Scotland and take the ferry to Larne in Northern Ireland.
Stena Line said they could “confirm that unfortunately, Stena Edda has suffered a technical problem, which we are looking into”.
They added: “All the passengers will be accommodated on the next sailing or alternate routes.”
In a tweet, they added: “Our call centre is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and wait times.”
A passenger on the Liverpool Belfast sailing said they were offered a refund and had to book a flight to Belfast instead.
