Passengers stuck on bus for 20 minutes as police close road in St George

Motorists were stuck in standstill traffic for almost half an hour after police closed a St George road during rush hour tonight (Monday, November 18).

A bus passenger said she was trapped in the jams for 20 minutes on Grindell Road near to Netham Road.

Mobile phone footage from the scene shows six police cars blocking the route at around 5pm.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police confirmed officers were carrying out a stop-check in the area.

No arrests were made and the cordon has now been lifted.

A witness told Bristol Live: "Police has recently closed the road at the Netham Road.

"We are all in the bus 36 stuck on the one-way street."
