Passengers who were left to face long delays and cancellations have expressed sympathy for the man who was at the centre of the incident which closed all lines at Leeds station.
Thousands were stranded as the lines were closed for over four hours on the morning of May 30, while British Transport Police officers rescued a man who, they say, was in a 'precarious position'.
Hundreds of services were cancelled or delayed, platforms were cordoned off and some passengers were stuck on trains waiting outside the station for several hours.
The man was brought to safety and detained under the Mental Health Act, but claims he was attempting to harm himself have not been confirmed.
'It's OK not to be OK'
Delayed passengers were not happy about missing important events, such as work meetings or exams, but many have taken to social media to share messages of sympathy and support.
Delays continued well into the evening but services have returned to normal this morning.
Passengers affected by yesterday's incident may be entitled to compensation - to find out if you are eligible and how to claim, read our guide to Northern, CrossCountry, LNER and TransPennine express compensation schemes here.
