Passengers left stranded and without information as Aer Lingus flights to Dublin Airport hit with delays and cancellations

Passengers travelling to Dublin Airport this evening have been hit with major disruptions as a number of Aer Lingus flights have been cancelled and many have been hit with severe delays.

So far, six flights to the capital from all over Europe have been cancelled, while some are seeing delays of up to six hours.

Aer Lingus flights from London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London City Airport, Birmingham, Frankfurt, and Munich have seen cancellations, with many of those scheduled to fly being left in the dark as to the reasoning for the cancellations.

Elsewhere, there have been delays of over five hours on some flights, with EI3327 from Manchester to Dublin, scheduled to land at 6:30PM, delayed until 11:15PM.

One passenger told Dublin Live: "they only notified us of the cancellations 40 minutes before the flight was due to leave, and it was the last flight to Dublin. Aer Lingus desk empty and no one answering the phone - disgraceful"

"They picked up the bill for a hotel and rebooked us on flights tomorrow but Aer lingus were appalling."

Many took to social media to vent their frustrations at the disruptions, one user wrote on twitter: "You have a bunch of angry passengers at Manchester. On check in at 3:30 for a 520 flight we were told there was a delay until 9:45. Despite 4:30 flight half full & a 9:10 flight half empty you did not transfer passenger into either of these flights. Total mismanagement!!"

Aer Lingus have been contacted for a comment.
