Passenger on Scotrail train horrified at sharp needles found sticking out of seat

A train passenger was left horrified when he discovered needles sticking out from a seat on a Scotrail carriage.

A traveller on the 18:45 service from Glasgow Central to Newton spotted the sharp pins sticking out from the material of the seat.

They had been placed in a row creating a dangerous hazard for train users.

Twitter user @Stevie_be66 shared a picture of the needles and wrote: "So this is the new sh*t that someone finds funny? Putting staff and passengers at great risk."

Scotrail say they are taking the incident “extremely seriously”.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “We deplore vandalism of any kind and anti-social behaviour has no place on Scotland’s Railway.

“We have been made aware of this incident and we are taking it extremely seriously.

“We continue to work with British Transport Police to clamp down on unacceptable behaviour and would ask our customers to contact BTP if they see anything suspicious.”

The Daily Record have contacted the British Transport Police for comment.
