Passenger on flight from Greece to Glasgow tests positive for coronavirus

A passenger on a flight from Greece to Glasgow has tested positive for coronavirus.

Airline Tui confirmed that the passenger had tested positive after flying from Zante to Glasgow Airport on August 23 on one of their planes, the BBC reports.

At the time of the flight TOM 1745, the passenger was not displaying Covid-19 symptoms.

Public Health Scotland reportedly informed Tui of the case on August 26, with contact information for passengers two rows in front and two rows behind the infected passenger passed on. The airline also contacted the customers directly.

While precautions are in place on flights, including wearing masks, physical distancing is not in place with all seats filled.

Greece is currently on the UK Government's list of countries that are exempt from 14 day quarantine restrictions when they enter the country.

This means that any people returning to Scotland or the rest of the UK from Zante did not have to self-isolate upon their arrival.
