Passenger on flight from Dublin Airport involved in 'rage' incident after asking for wine

A passenger on a flight from Dublin Airport to the US was allegedly involved in an 'air rage' incident last week.

The man was travelling on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Ireland to Dulles International Airport in Washington DC on December 2.

As the plane began descending towards the US airport, the man is said to have approached the flight cabin supervisor and asked for white and red wine.

However, his request was refused as the flight attendant informed him that the aircraft was about to land and he should return to his seat.

According to the report from Federal police in the US, the passenger "got mad, insulted the flight cabin supervisor and attempted to take a picture of the flight cabin supervisor".

The report continues that the flight supervisor "was in the process of activating the cabin video containing passenger instructions for landing when she stopped and placed her hands over her face to shield it from [the passenger's] photo".

He then allegedly grabbed the supervisor's wrists as her hands covered her face and "pushed her against the cabin entry door".

The pilot then verbally warned the unruly passenger to return to his seat.

The man was subsequently arrested by Federal police at Dulles International when the plane safely landed.

There have been more than 5,400 alleged air rage incidents on flights landing in the US so far this year.
