Passenger flight forced to make emergency landing after black smoke pours in cabin

A passenger flight was forced to make an emergency landing when black smoke started pouring into the cabin. Video footage captured the terrifying moment passengers noticed the smoke while 5,000 feet in the air during the Indian domestic flight.

The Spicejet aircraft Q400Delhi had been en route to Jabalpur in central India's Madhya Pradesh before it was forced to make an emergency landing. Pictures from the aircraft shows dark smoke filling the plane's passenger section.

Stressed passengers were using catalogues and booklets to cool themselves down during the terrifying flight. They could breathe a sigh of relief as the air crew quickly reacted and swiftly landed at an airport in Delhi.

Video footage also captured the left engine smoking when the plane was landed. Thankfully, no passengers were hurt.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has started an investigation into this incident.
