Passenger dies after medical incident on board Scottish bus

A PERSON has died after taking unwell on a Scottish bus on Tuesday morning.

The passenger was travelling on a First service in Glasgow's Gorbals at around 8am when they became unwell and sadly passed away.

Police and an ambulance were called while an area of Gorbals Street was taped off while the bus remained stationary.

Police tape was seen around the bus.

Plain-clothed and uniformed officers were seen carrying out investigations.

A First Bus spokesperson said: “We can confirm a passenger sadly passed away after taking unwell on one of our services this morning on Gorbals Street at around 8am.

“Emergency services were called immediately and were in attendance.

“Our thoughts are with their family at this sad time.”

When approached for comment, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service said it was a medical matter.
