Passenger dies after being restrained on flight to UK

  • A police investigation has been launched following the death of Callum Kerr, 35, after he was restrained on a flight from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Manchester.
  • Mr Kerr was reportedly behaving aggressively, assaulting a passenger and a cabin crew member, leading to his restraint by others on board.
  • Upon the flight's arrival, Greater Manchester Police officers found Mr Kerr unresponsive and administered CPR before he was taken to hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
  • Greater Manchester Police are investigating the events that occurred on the flight prior to their arrival.
  • The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is also conducting an independent investigation into the police's contact with Mr Kerr, treating officers as witnesses.
