Passenger chanted racist slurs on train to Liverpool

A man is being hunted by police after he began making vile racist chants in front of horrified passengers on a train heading to Liverpool .

Police today issued CCTV stills of a man they believe "may have information" regarding the sickening outburst.

British Transport Police (BTP) said a man started "chanting racist slurs and using offensive language" on the Blackpool to Liverpool train .

The man started his foul tirade after boarding the train at Wigan North Western Station.

Police have not gone into detail into the exact nature of his outburst but hope the man pictured can help their probe into the incident, which happened around 10pm on Wednesday, July 24.

BTP officers are today releasing CCTV images after a report of racist chants being shouted on a train from Blackpool to Liverpool .

A BTP spokesman said: "A man is reported to have begun chanting racist slurs and using offensive language after boarding the train at Wigan North Western Station.

"Officers believe the person in the image may have information that could help their investigation."

Anyone who knows him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016.
