Pasoni Tasini brings familiarity to Cardinals defensive line room

The Arizona Cardinals brought a familiar face back to training camp on Sunday, re-signing defensive lineman Pasoni Tasini. He spent the last two years with the team.

He spent the 2017 season on the practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted rookie. He was on the practice squad for most of 2018, was cut, re-signed and then elevated to the active roster. He played in a game.

He was brought back again and then cut in May.

But after Vincent Valentine was waived/injured and Darius Philon was released following an arrest, they called him back.

What does head coach Kliff Kingsbury see in Tasini?

“We were familiar with him in the spring and felt like to get us through camp we needed some help there,” he told reporters Sunday morning. “He’s a guy who knows our system. We like what he’s about and are excited to see how he fits into that group.”

He will obviously be a longshot to make the team but clearly has been reliable enough to make some sort of impression on three coaching staffs.
