Pasco Shikishima Corp. has begun to sell two flavors of sweet bread developed with luxury-chocolate maker Godiva.
The sweets will also be available for purchase at convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide on Dec. 1.
The rich and moist "Chocolat Bread" has chocolate chips mixed into the dough, a chocolate cream layering with a chocolate coating.
The "Terrine Chocolat," made with steamed dough and dark Belgian chocolate, has a hint of bitterness.
A pastry chef from Godiva was involved in the development of the release, and the luxurious feel is evident through to the packaging.
Pasco Shikishima, based in Nagoya, aims to sell 1 million pieces of each product per month.
