Pascal Struijk signs new Leeds United contract to extend Elland Road stay

Leeds United's Pascal Struijk has signed a new deal at Elland Road. The versatile defender, who signed for the club in 2018, has signed fresh terms with the Whites taking his contract through until 2027.

The Dutch youth international first broke into the team in March 2018, before being given further opportunities to impress under former boss Marcelo Bielsa. Struijk is now a regular for Leeds under Jesse March, featuring in 13 Premier League games this season - scoring once and notching an assist.

He's made 77 appearances for the Whites since arriving and was part of the Sky Bet Championship winning side in 2019/20.

The 23-year-old was in contention to feature for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar. Struijk was included in the provisional squad but was left out of the final 26-man squad by Louis Van Gaal.

A club statement added: "The club are pleased to have secured Pascal’s future, meaning he will continue to help the side throughout the rest of this season, when it gets back underway after Christmas, and then over the coming years at Elland Road."
