Partygoers have descended on Liverpool city centre to celebrate New Year's Eve and usher in 2022.
It's safe to say 2021 has been a year of highs and lows, but people are making the most of the final night of 2021 and looking ahead to the new year with a night out in the city.
As 2021 comes to an end, people from all over Merseyside came into the city centre to spend the evening with friends and loved ones.

After being forced to close under last year's lockdown restrictions, many bars and clubs in the city looked busy with revellers this evening.
Castle Street, Mathew Street and Concert Square were all full of life after another year punctuated by restrictions and uncertainty for businesses.
Earlier this week Boris Johnson issued an urgent warning for anyone planning to celebrate New Year.
Mr Johnson urged people to get tested before New Year's Eve festivities, telling reporters "everybody should enjoy New Year but in a cautious and sensible way".
He continued: "Take a test, ventilation, think about others but, above all, get a booster."
The NHS Covid pass with proof of at least two vaccinations or a negative lateral flow test are required for anyone hoping to set foot in a nightclub this evening.
There are no rules in place for people hoping to have a gathering in their homes.
