Get out your pink bowtie. It’s back to work.
“Party Down,” the cult favorite comedy show about a catering team in Los Angeles, has officially been greenlit for a six-episode revival at Starz, the network announced Tuesday.
Original stars Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally have all signed on to return to their roles as the Hollywood wannabes constantly looking for their big break.
Lizzy Caplan will not return due to scheduling conflicts on “Fatal Attraction” and “Fleishman Is in Trouble.”
“After more than 10 years, we’re excited to have the cast, many of whom are now hugely popular award-winning stars, return to don their pink bowties and head back to the party,” Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO at Starz, said in a statement.
The series, created by Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Paul Rudd, and Dan Etheridge, ran for two seasons in 2009 and 2010 but has remained a fan favorite.
“The fan demand for a ‘Party Down’ revival is clear and we look forward to what Rob, Paul, John, Dan and now Adam will do as they bring this special project and these hilarious characters back to life,” Hirsch added.
Marino told the Daily News last year that “everybody involved wants to do” a revival.
“That group of people, there’s a special connection with all of us, we really enjoy each other,” he said.
