Party atmosphere at Beatlie Campus thanks to Samba group

Students at Beatlie Campus in Livingston had a party in the name of charity last week.

Children partied the day away on Friday with samba music and dancing for local charity Signpost, who received new funding this year from Global Radio.

The event was part of the Make Some Noise campaign run by Global Radio that funds small charities across the UK who struggle to be noticed.

Signpost offers information and support to young people with additional support needs and their families in West Lothian.

They will receive a grant next April that will allow them to continue providing advice, training and support.

Lesley Mount of Signpost said: “We are thrilled to have Global Radio’s support, which will really help to raise awareness of our work and of the challenges that our families face.”

Local samba band Sambalistic gave the children at Beatlie Campus a chance to try out the drums and join in the music-making.

Children, staff and parents made music with maracas, tambourines and anything else they could find to publicise their cause.

Signpost supports around 700 families across West Lothian. For more details contact Lesley Mount on 01506 431123 or lesley@signpost-online.co.uk.
