Party at the Palace called off: Ticket update, line-up information and refund policy

Party at the Palace organisers have confirmed that this year's event won't be taking place as planned due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement issued on Tuesday morning they explained that their "priority has always been ensuring that Party at the Palace is a safe, family-friendly event and sadly this can't be guaranteed under the current restrictions".

It emerged last week that large gatherings were likely to be off for the majority of the year to help prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19.

Manic Street Preachers and OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) were announced as headliners earlier this year, with Hot Dub Time Machine, The Snuts, Becky Hill, Toploader, Peat & Diesel, Be Charlotte and Space all set to perform.

However the event, which was due to be held on 8 and 9 August, has been postponed with two options offered to ticket holders.

In a social media post organisers said tickets will automatically transfer to next year's event, taking place on 7 and 8 August, 2021. There will be no price reduction on new tickets for next year's event so current ticket holders don't lose out.

However they add that they "cannot confirm the line up" but expect it to be of the same standard they have delivered for the last six year.

Anyone unable to make next year's event can request a refund on the 2020 ticket. People will be required to contact their point of purchase to arrange this but are asked to remain patient on this due to the "exceptional situation".

In their statement, organisers add: "In writing this we appreciate that music festivals are not a priority at present and we sincerely hope that you all stay safe. When the time comes, we can come together for a proper, well deserved party."
