Parts of Mumbai experience light rain

MUMBAI: Light rains were reported in many parts of Mumbai on Friday morning. This was coupled with overcast skies as well.

In western suburbs parts of Kandivali, Dahisar, Malad saw a light drizzle along with areas like Mira Road, however the rainfall wasn’t significant to show on the IMD observatories recordings which are updated every three hours. Officials at the IMD said that the unseasonal rains was owing to Moisture incursion from westerly winds.

In its forecast for the next five days, the IMD has said that starting Saturday dry weather conditions are likely for Mumbai and Thane. However interior parts like Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg could see thunder and lightning activity.

Night temperatures in the city were on the higher side making it slightly uncomfortable for Mumbaikars. On Friday the minimum temperature recorded by the IMD Colaba observatory was 24.8 degrees and IMD Santa Cruz observatory was 24.6 degrees.
