Parts of Kilmarnock have been left without power this afternoon.
A power cut in KA1 and KA3 postcodes has been reported with officials estimating that it could take many hours to restore.
SP Energy Networks have said they're working to try and resolve the issue by 4.30pm.
But an estimated restore time for the areas has been logged as 9pm.
The SP Energy Networks website reads: "There is a power cut in the KA1 and KA3 postcode areas of Kilmarnock.
"We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 2.21pm.
"Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely to restore power in stages, and our emergency response team have arrived in the local area to investigate and repair the fault.
"Our team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4.30pm.
"When we receive any update regarding the cause, we will be able to provide you with more information.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. "
