Parts of Bristol still have no water today - despite burst main being fixed

People in some areas of Bristol are still experiencing low water pressure and lack of supply– after a burst main left hundreds without water yesterday.

Residents in parts of the city say they are still experiencing low pressure despite the water main being fixed late last night.

Bristol Water was made aware of the burst water main at Royate Hill early yesterday.

The incident left hundreds of properties in the BS5, BS7 and BS16 areas without water for a large part of the day.

Water tankers were brought in to Whitehall to hand out supplies to those in need.

Crews worked through the day and the main was fixed last night but people in the BS5 and surrounding area were still experiencing low water pressure this morning – and some still have no supply.

Bristol Water said it was aware of the issue and is currently investigating what the problem is.

A spokesman for Bristol Water said: “After yesterday’s burst on Royate Hill we are aware of continued low pressure and in a small number of cases.

“We’ve identified the reason for the low pressure so many of you are experiencing around BS5 and the surrounding area and are working to fix it now.”
